Fast growing species Penstemon from the USA known as the Rocky Mountain beardtongue. It forms a dense spreading mat from which spikes of purple to royal blue flowers arise to 75Cm high. The stunning flower spikes appear in late Spring and early Summer. Suited to full sun in most well drained soils, it is drought and frost tolerant once established.
