Description

Medium sized tree 8-15mx 5-12m. Flowering occurs from August to January and the flowers are pink to brilliant red but sometimes cream to yellow. Flower colour will not be known until the tree is old enough to flower. Juvenile foliage dull greyish green and egg-shaped whilst adult leaves are the same shade of bluish green on both sides, lance-shaped or curved. It has rough, flaky bark on part or all of the trunk, smooth greyish and yellowish bark above. Likes full sun or part shade in most well drained soils, tolerates poor soils, lime, salinity, coastal and dry conditions. Ideal for use as a screen or windbreak. Good street or park tree. Frost tolerant.
