Pultanaea acerosa is rigid, spreading, much-branched shrub that typically grows to 1m x 1-3m with hairy stems that are woolly-hairy when young. The leaves are linear to needle-shaped and the yellow and red pea flowers occur from August to December. Drought hardy once established and moderately frost tolerant. Prefers full sun in well drained soils. Habitat refuge for native birds, lizards and small mammals.
