Melaleuca squarrosa is an attractive shrub growing 2-5m x 1-2m with dense foliage and arching branches and it flowers profusely in spring or early summer, bearing spikes of perfumed yellow to white flowers. It grows in full sun or part shade and is hardy and adaptable to most soils and conditions from constant moisture to dry. Ideal as a screen or windbreak. Summer water recommended in dry districts.
