Melaleuca squamea is an erect, dense shrub to 2m x 2m, sometimes growing to 6m in boggy areas. Flower heads of lilac to mauve, sometimes white or yellow make an eye catching display in Spring.  It is frost and drought tolerant and survives in poorly drained soils, summer water recommended until established.
