Grevillea armigera is an erect to spreading shrub that typically grows to a height of 2–3.5 m x 1.5-4m. Its leaves are deeply lobed and sharply-pointed. The flowers are grey, green or pale yellow with a black to blackish maroon style. Flowering mainly occurs from June to February. It prefers full sun in well drained soils and is drought hardy and moderately frost tolerant once established.
