Dianthus barbatus Heart Attack is a small spreading shrub forming a tight mound to 30cm x 40cm of green foliage with a purplish tint in the cooler months. Massed spikes of deep red flowers late spring into summer. Deadhead to encourage repeat flowering. Most soils in full sun. Drought hardy once established but summer water may be required in drier districts. Ideal for borders, rockeries, cottage gardens and containers.
