Description
Banksia integrifolia ssp. monticola is similar to Banksia integrifolia sup. integrifolia, but differs in having longer, narrower leaves, and follicles that are more deeply embedded in the old flower spike. It also contains the largest recorded Banksia specimens with trees reaching 35m in height, although usual height is around 20-25m. It is an inland species and it is valued because of its frost hardiness. Pale yellow flowers, with a possible tinge of pink, open from late summer to winter. Full sun preferred or part shade in well drained soils, drought hardy once established.
