Hakea candolleana is a spreading rounded shrub 50cm-1.6m, growing wider than it is tall. It has flat elongated foliage, sometimes needle shaped, ending with a sharp point, making it ideal as a bird refuge. It produces cream-white flowers from June to September. It likes full sun or part shade in well drained soils. Drought and frost tolerant.
