Eucalyptus occidentalis is a medium to large sized tree 15-30m branching from low down on the trunk. White flowers April to August. Full sun/part shade, most well drained soils. Drought and frost hardy. Tolerates lime and salty soils. Will grow in as little as 350mm rainfall, but will tolerate being planted in wet salty soils such as estuaries. Good soil stabiliser. May be a useful honey tree. Good wood for timber production – used for firewood and for cabinet making.
