Fast growing large tree 15-30m. Attractive reddish brown bark but the real feature is the round silvery grey juvenile foliage. This foliage can be kept by coppicing the tree. Mature foliage is till an attractive grey colour but is more elongated. Dense rounded canopy makes this an ideal shade tree for parks and rural areas. White flowers between May and November. Full sun or part shade, adaptable to most well drained soils. Drought and frost hardy once established. Juvenile foliage used in the floral industry.
