Eremophila macdonnellii is a rounded shrub with many tangled branches and which usually grows to about 0.3–1.2 m x  0.2–1.5 m wide. Its branches are covered with hairs and deep lilac-coloured to purple flowers mainly occur between May and October   Grows in full sun or part shade in well drained soils.  It is both drought tolerant and moderately frost resistant.
