The only Banksia that occurs locally in South Australia. Easy to grow, it is hardy and adaptable growing from the coast to inland regions. Large yellow flower spikes February to July and sporadic at other times. The undersides of the leaves are white giving the shrub a silvery appearance in the wind. Evergreen shrub 2-3m x 2-3m, sometimes growing to a small tree. Well drained soils in full sun. Drought and frost hardy once established.
