Gnarled bushy shrub or small tree 2-5m with corky bark and spiny foliage and stems. Curved blue grey foliage with a spiny tip. An outstanding feature of this plant is the clusters of reddish purple centred yellow flowers May to October. Full sun preferred in well drained sandy to loam soils. From the arid interior of Australia it is drought hardy.
