Pelargonium echinatum Miss Stapleton is an interesting species Pelargonium from South Africa. It is a hardy small shrub 30cm-1m x 50cm with fluted green foliage and massed deep cerise flowers from June to October which become two toned as they age. In summer it becomes dormant, having lost its leaves in November, making it ideal for water wise gardens. It grows best in full sun in most well drained soils. Drought and frost hardy to -3 degrees.
