FAQ

FAQ

How much is postage?

We offer Flat Rate Postage** of $19.95 EXPRESS via Australia Post for orders which include plants. For seed only orders our postage rate is $4.00 per order which includes tracking. Postage will be calculated at check out. The more plants you order the more cost effective the postage. ** excludes plant multi-packs.

How big are the plants?

We supply our plants in retail sized tubes and pots, not propagation tubes. This means you get bigger plants for your money and they have well developed roots allowing them to be planted directly into the ground. Our Canna, Iris and Kniphofia are sent bare rooted for ease of postage as well as a large range of succulents. Our bare rooted perennials are advanced plants bare rooted down for ease of postage. Our plants are grown in full sun and are therefore sun-hardened, just allow a few days for recovery from posting where they have been in the dark.

Do you have more plants?

Need more plants than what is currently listed? Just send us an email and we will get back to you with stock levels as soon as possible.

Can I order just one plant?

Yes you can but postage per plant becomes cheaper the more you buy.

Can you hold my order?

No, we dont hold orders, they will be posted on our next postage day.

How long will my plants take to arrive?

Usually your plants will be shipped within 7-10 days. Our main posting day is Friday, with a 2pm Thursday cut-off, but orders may be posted on a Monday or Tuesday in peak times or due to public holidays. We will email you with a tracking no when your plants are posted. There may be longer delays at Easter and Christmas.

How do you package plants for shipping?

We take great care to prepare your plants for shipping. They are well watered and each plant is individually staked and taped to reduce breakage and ensure soil and moisture is retained in transit. We also label each variety so you can identify your plants upon receipt. In the unlikely event of a problem please contact us on the day of receipt. For Post Boxes, “day of delivery” is the day Australia Post marks the order delivered to your post box, not the day you collect the order from your post box.

What happens if my plants are damaged?

We post thousands of plants a year with no problems. However, these are live plants and sometimes things do go wrong and we understand that. In the unlikely event there has been a problem with your plants during transport please contact us on the day of receipt via email and attach a photo of the problem.  For Post Boxes, “day of delivery” is the day Australia Post marks the order delivered to your post box, not the day you collect the order from your post box. You can contact us via email at belinda@triggplants.com.au. After that time their care and performance are your responsibility.

Damage is not one or two yellowing or damaged leaves on an otherwise healthy viable plant. Plants regularly shed lower leaves throughout their life and it does not affect their growing potential. If the plant is in flower it does not cover the loss of any flowers dislodged during transport.

We do not cover plants for orders that have been left in a safe place, either by your request or by Australia Post as we do not know the conditions that these parcels have been left in. Hot sun shining on your parcel will quickly cause yellowing and or browning of the leaves of your plants.

Collectors, you are welcome to order plants not suited to your area, but if they are marked as such we will not be liable for any losses in transport.

Can I add to my order?

If you wish to add to an existing order that has not yet been posted you will need to contact us via email at belinda@triggplants.com.au with a list of the plants you wish to add. We will send you a separate Paypal invoice for the additional plants. Invoice must be paid by the cut-off time stipulated for inclusion in your existing order otherwise invoice will be amended to include postage. We do not add to orders that have been held past the day they would have been expected to be posted. Please note, the office is unattended on order processing days so we may not receive your email in time so let us know asap.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, if the order has not been packed there is a $5 charge for the administrative time involved and the rest, less the Paypal fees charged to us, will be refunded to your account.

If your order has been packed and a postage label initiated you will be charged 20% of your order cost for time spent removing the specialised packing from the plants,  the cost of the postage label and Paypal fees incurred on your order. Remaining funds will be deposited back to your account. This could be costly to you so please advise us asap if you have a change of mind.

Once your order has left the premises we are unable to cancel the order.

Can I return my order?

Please chose your selections carefully as we cannot accept returns. SA is a relatively disease free state and we can post almost any species to you however quarantine laws do not allow for the movement of a lot of species we sell back across the SA border.

I live in WA, NT and Tas, why cant I place an order?

Current state quarantine laws do not allow us to post to these states.

Do you post Overseas?

No, we do not post overseas. The export of plants from Australia requires a Phytosanitary Certificate, and most countries will require one to import them. We do not issue Phytosanitary Certificates. We reserve the right to cancel any orders found to be destined for overseas via a mail on-forwarding service or any other means. Refunds will be less the Paypal fees charged on the order.

How soon can I plant out my plants?

Our plants are grown in full sun and are therefore sun-hardened, just allow a few days for recovery from posting where they have been in the dark. We supply our plants in retail sized tubes and pots, not propagation tubes. This means you get bigger plants for your money and they have well developed roots allowing them to be planted directly into the ground.
