Silene uniflora is a low, mat forming plant growing 40-50cm wide. It has attractive grey green foliage and the most stunning white flowers whose petals are fused and inflated to form a bladder. It flowers for a long period from late Winter to late Autumn. Highly adaptable it grows in coastal and inland areas in well drained soils and prefers full sun but will grow in part shade. We grow it here in SA with some Summer water. Also tolerant of alkaline soils.
