Banksia blechnifolia is a low growing spreading banksia that effectively acts as a ground-cover. Long thick deeply divided leaves grow up from the ground hugging branches. From September to November the flower cones arise well beyond the leaves and are reddish pink with a cream base, fading to light brown and then grey as they age. Full sun or part shade. Well drained soils. Coastal, frost and drought tolerant. Good for soil binding.
